Narrator’s mind. The padded room represents
how he is trapped by adulthood in his own
mind. On the coat rack hangs a “hat” he drew
as a child and a straight jacket he has broken
out of. The narrator has torn open the walls,
and crawls towards the freedom of the little
Prince’s world.
