Overview
Need to get out of the heat?
The Library of Alexandria is now hiring trainees to assist expert scholars in uncovering the secrets of our universe. During orientation you will learn all the ways to assist scholars in their studies and how our beloved Goddess Seshat likes the library organized. Feel free to take a seat in a handy scroll cart and enter the bustling Archives, where you can help passionate scholars in their studies. Have fun using the pulley system compartment to take the scrolls you’ve collected to the Grand Scroll Room.
Preferred skills include:
Torch bearing, organization, problem-solving, fast-paced scenarios, and teamwork.
WARNING! The library houses many torches needed for light. If a fire breaks out, you must help the scholars save the scrolls. Run from room to room gathering scrolls before all written knowledge is lost.
BEWARE to those who set aflame the library. The Goddess Seshat does not take kindly to humans who destroy her accomplishments, and she will have her revenge!
*The inspiration for our overview and our presentation script/treatment were hiring practices you can find in the real world. Examples of this include job application pages and orientation videos.

Ride Backstory
Here at the Great Library of Alexandria, we are committed to housing the world's most important documents. This universal library began with Demetrius of Phalereon, advisor to the King of Egypt. The King recognized Demetrius' vast knowledge and hired him to build the library up to what you see today.
To create such a magnificent place, a quest for books and scrolls commenced throughout many lands. They were obtained through voyages across land and sea, amassing almost 700,000 books and scrolls form cultures all over the world, with languages ranging from the most well-known to the least.
Scholars far and near travel to the library seeking knowledge to enrich their minds and bring back to their own cultures.
We are always looking for new books, scrolls, and a lending hand from those who aspire to be a part of this ever-growing team and environment.

Ride Beats
Entrance
Guests approach a beautiful Egyptian temple, hieroglyphics carved into the facade and opulent statues welcoming guests in. A banner waves in the wind with the words Help Wanted inscribed in English.
Outdoor Queue
Guests enter the queue through a patio just inside of the facade. Towering papyrus styled columns frame the doorway to the indoor queue. Guests wonder at the messages within the hieroglyphics inscribed into the walls around them.
Indoor Queue
The library greets guests with soft glows from torches lit with fire on the walls. The towering papyrus columns continue through this room. Natural light flows in from colossal windows looking out into the town. Guests loop naturally through the room and around the columns.
Pre-Show Room
Scene 1
Guests enter into the bustling Archives where they get their first glimpse at the wonders within the library. With so many historians and archivists around, the cart gets bumped a good amount, showing guests the capabilities of the cart.
Scene 3
Entering the Grand Scroll Room, guests stare in awe at this beautiful room. But as they stare in wonder, they don't realize where they're driving and bump into a wall, knocking one of the torches down! The room sets ablaze and the guests rush to the next room.
Scene 4
Guests enter the first collection room, Accounting, containing Egypt’s records and trade documents, as well as currencies from around the world. Guests must work hard to grab as many scrolls as possible and may also grab some coins to fun repairs for the library. As they grab the scrolls, they notice their point adding up on the scroll counter. Throughout each room, if the fire burns too close, guests may buy some time by dousing the flames from the overhead buckets. Reaching the end of the Accounting Room, cart hurries guests to the next collection room.
Scene 6
To get to the other rooms, guests must take the most efficient route, which happens to be the unstable bridge. Carts have to navigate through debris as they cross to get to the other collection rooms.
Scene 8
Guests enter the last room: Literature. Just as in the other rooms, guests grab as many scrolls as possible and deter the fire with the buckets of water overhead. As they leave the room, the cart takes them towards the nearest exit.
unload
Guests come around a corner to the unload where library employees assist them out of their cart and inform the guests that they are fired for setting the library ablaze. Guests may then enter the gift shop where they can buy a "I Survived the Archives" t-shirt.
Guests file into the pre-show room by a live actor portraying their orientation leader. By entering the queue, guests have signed themselves up to be the new hires at the Library of Alexandria. The actor tells them of their first assignment and gives them a run down of how to collect the scrolls on their way out in case of a fire and the dangers of upsetting the Goddess Seshat.
Load
Guests pick up specially designed reading glasses, board innovative, self-rolling carts, and their first shift begins. In the back of every cart, a small window looks into a scroll compartment . A counter tracks the number of scrolls guests gather throughout the library.
Scene 2
To get to their assignment, guests must
take the pulley powered cart lift to the Grand Scroll Room on the second floor.
scene 5
Entering the Architecture Room, guests hurry to grab more scrolls. This room houses the plans for influential buildings around the world, including the library. If there is any hope of rebuilding, guests must save them. As the fire comes closer, guests move on to the next area.
scene 7
Making it off the bridge, guests enter the next closest room: Astronomy. The documents guests collect in here include everything known about the universe and they cannot be replaced. Guests may also collect some Astrology scrolls but those can be made up later.
scene 9
To reach the exit, guests must go past a statue of the Goddess Seshat who comes to life, angry at the guests for destroying her library. She suddenly drops guests through the floor causing some of their scrolls to to be lost and their points to diminish.
